Full Blue Moon
By Tara Sutphen
The Full Blue Moon (Native American) at 10* Libra will culminate, March 31, 2018 5:37am PDT/8:37am EDT/New Zealand April 1, 2018 1:37am (Farmers Almanac).
This Libra Moon is asking us to develop our balance and synch to our abilities. You are to look for what naturally fits to your nature and not add a square peg to a round hole, when it comes to anything you want to do or achieve. This moon and its aspects are all about you coming back to your lovability and congeniality. Your destiny is to flow, if there is a question to any direction, it is not the right answer. We aren’t supposed to know everything, but when we use our inner guidance system. We gain a perspective of going in the right direction over a wrong one. And if we tend toward destructive behavior in any way, that certainly isn’t the right direction. We are constantly need to come back to center, being brave and in resonance no matter the outside circumstances. Allow for Grace. What makes you feel at peace, practice that feeling every day.

*How to become balanced:
PHYSICAL: health and the way we treat our cleanliness, posture, and overall treat our bodies is a part where being balanced. Our body is the most precious gift we have and without it we can’t exist. If we don’t stay healthy we certainly can’t enjoy all the other aspects of life.
2. MENTAL: You want to exercise your mind to keep it working properly. Keep your cognitive abilities sharp. If you don’t take care of your body it will deteriorate, and this can also be true of your mind.
3. EMOTIONAL: Managing our emotions is important. When engaging with our feelings it’s best to work with our intelligence. In this way we learn what we want and how we can be fulfilled. We need always to resolve our feelings and never be irrational. It’s easy to forget how to manage our emotional world.

4.SOCIAL: There is a certain amount of human socializing people need. We learn to treat humankind with courtesy and fairness when we are interacting with each other. Sometimes there are wonderful connections we naturally make. Camaraderie and joy can easily be attained. But how about when dissension or bad feelings come up, those need to be handled and dealt with emotionally. Even if you don’t like to interact with people there is a certain spacial sharing humans need.
5.FINANCES: Whether you are working in a career or a job, it’s important to bring value to your and others lives. We are all a part of a cycle of service to mankind, to ourselves and to our Families. Money is an energetic transference. Learn what your skills are and practice being the best you can be.
6.SPIRITUAL: The relationship you create between yourself and the universe. You can fight your life every day or you can come into resonance and be in reverence of all the opportunities and possibilities life has your offer you. If you begin to feel blessed, this will carry into your speaking, your actions and into a better future.

Happy Spring Equinox

Spring Equinox, Ostara, Eostre, Easter, Vernal Equinox

By Tara Sutphen

• 21st March   Spring Equinox marks the mid-point of the Waxing Year, the nights and days are balanced once again; the time when Kore, (Persephone) was believed to have returned from the Underworld where she had ruled throughout the Winter. The spark of light, born at Winter Solstice has reached maturity, and from here onwards, the days progressively grow longer than the nights. Western culture proclaims this the first day of Spring.Older traditions called the Spring Equinox, Ostara; the time of the festivals of the Grecian Goddess, Eostre, and the Germanic Ostara, both fertility Goddesses of Dawn. These influenced the naming of the modern-day Easter Holiday. New greenery bursts forth from sleeping seeds in the countryside, as metaphorically, pagans also plant their own seeds for future goals, future projects and growth at this time.Decorated eggs, being symbols of fertility are symbolic of Ostara. In days gone, Europeans gave gifts of decorated eggs to new brides, in the hope that they would bear many children. Similarly, bowls filled with eggs were given to farm workers by the farmer’s wife, to ensure a rich harvest. Most all cultures see the egg as a symbol of Life; the actual home of the Soul. In Russia, decorated eggs are still given as gifts to loved ones and buried in graves to ensure rebirth. The women gathered the eggs only from hens which were around a rooster and decorated them, allowing no one to watch them work as they transferred the goodness of the household to the designs on the eggs, thus keeping evil away. Dyes were mixed to secret family recipes and special blessings placed on each egg.

Lore:

• The custom of eating Hot Cross Buns also has pagan origins. The Saxons ate buns that were marked with a cross in honor of Eostre; Ancient Greeks consumed these types of buns in their celebrations of Artemis, Goddess of the hunt, and the Egyptians ate a similar cake in their worship of the Goddess Isis.

• There are conflicting ideas as to what the cross symbol represents. One suggestion is that it is a Christianisation of horn symbols that were stamped on cakes to represent an ox, which used to be sacrificed at the time of the Spring Equinox. Another theory relates to Moon worship; the bun representing the full Moon, and the cross, its four quarters. Christianity gave new meanings to the symbolism of the buns, saying the cross represented the Crucifixion Cross. Thus, superstitions arose crediting these buns as being charms against evil, so after Good Friday, people would save one or two of them to hang in their homes as amulets. During the festival season and indeed, for a long time afterwards, fishermen would carry these Easter buns in their boats, for protection.

• The Spring Equinox defines the season where Spring reaches it’s peak, with the powers of light increasing. The God of Light, (Llew), now gains victory over his twin, the God of Darkness. Llew was reborn at the Winter Solstice and is now old and strong enough to vanquish his rival twin and mate with his Mother Goddess. The great Mother Goddess, who returned to her Virgin aspect at Imbolc, welcomes the young Sun God’s attentions and conceives a child. The child will be born nine months from now, at the next Winter Solstice, when the cycle closes, only to begin anew.

• The Easter Bunny is another symbol which has obvious links to fertility, rebirth, and the abundance of life which is evident in Spring.

• Eostre was a playful Goddess whose reign over the earth began in Spring when the Sun King journeyed across the sky in his chariot, bringing the end of Winter. Eostre came down to Earth then, appearing as a beautiful maiden with a basket of bright colorful eggs. Eostre’s magical companion was a rabbit who accompanied her as she brought new life to dying plants and flowers by hiding the eggs in the fields.

Happy Full Wolf Moon

Full Wolf Moon

By Tara Sutphen

The Full Wolf Moon (Native American) at 11* Cancer will culminate January 1, 2018 6:24 AM PsT/9:24 PM EsT (Farmers Almanac/Moon Phases Calendar). The current phase of the moon is a Waxing Gibbous (88.8% illuminated), 11.6 days old and at a distance of 366763 Km (227896 Miles).

This Full Moon in Cancer is about coming together. Your home and family are in the limelight of the moon this month. It’s not only time to work on better relations but to come into mastery and learn on that level, so you can enjoy other aspects of your life and get on the path of your true purpose. Its getting to a place of Love on all levels, real love, true love, unconditional love, self love and romantic love.

So how did the holidays go? Was everyone and everything fine or are you going to have to work on yourself? Or is it back to square one learning coping skills for next year? Did you have enough time for all those you love? Was it quality time?  Or were you wasting time with the ones you were subjected to and sometimes give you a headache? Is it you or them? Whats wrong with them after all, is it their need for recognition or are they just party crashers and complainers. Are we here on earth to alleviate our burdens or guilt with our families or close friends. Why are we coming together with the people who we find ourselves gathering around. You may get along with everyone, but do they get along with you?

The many personalities and a simple fix: its best not to be in judgement. It’s best to be someone who settles their inner nature. It’s best to find a peaceable time with those around you. If you’ve achieved this, you are well on your way to experience life at its best. But for some reason people don’t always get along, unless you swallow your opinions on religion and politics and then everything is hunky-dory.  And there seems always to be “one black sheep”, whether that’s in a self-destructive category or just the family member who doesn’t follow “rules”. Is the black sheep you? Or are you the peacemaker? What do you bring to the table.

With all the varied personalities around, it can be challenging to have a good time, especially with difficult personalities. There can be confusion on how to handle social events or family gatherings. As they can bring a certain strain. You are to reclaim your life and its gifts, you are to work out any self-consciousness or doubt. You can easily come into your family dynamics, programming, communication style, and/or politeness.

Enjoy your present moment, no matter how simple the task. Creation is a process of constructive movement. Peace in the home does not come from material possessions, it is an attitude. Sentiments, calmness of the spirit, not needing to be right, offering an inner peace goes a long way. Home is where the heart is…

  • Positive Emotions:

Soothe the self. Learn to feel okay. Actuate your emotions into feeling self-assurance or come back to your inner sanctum. You don’t need to create disorder, and don’t react when others are creating chaos or over-reacting. This is about you, and your progression in life. Don’t let others set the tone on what you’re to feel. It’s not a “letting go”, but a “letting it be”.

  • Get-together:

Family and Friend get-togethers can be a place to share and reminisce. Friends should be constructive, soothing and progressive. Families who discuss conflict, provide alternatives, and take action on troubling issues usually feel aligned. Alienation begins when we become fragmented. After all it is natural to individuate from your parents, to man-up or become a woman having your own routine and family. Sometimes you can become relative strangers as families are a collection of styles, perspectives, principles, ages, and different ways of observing professions or service. Listening is a good way to start, and knowing when to leave a conversation quietly. Ask questions, find another commonality.

  • Relationships:

Show up and pay attention to your beloved. Making quality time for another person. If you are in a long term relationship you won’t always be on the same page but if you want to make the relationship work: Engage in eye contact, body contact, and speak sincerely to each other. You won’t think like each other as two individuals are not alike. There can be many things you learn from each other. It should be a supportive relationship in every way. If you treat each other like a best friend, you always will be.

    • Meaningfulness:

We want to create significance in our lives. Maybe a place we can start is by looking into someone’s positive qualities over their negative traits. When you don’t expect anything from another, you are just enjoying their very existence. There are different levels of intimacy, starting from unconditional love to the allowance of genuine moments to evolve with those we love. If… we can always stay with how we feel. Finding the way to be content instead of overthinking what we think we need, as reciprocation is tricky, trust is faulty, it’s not about how someone else develops in life; this is about you. This is your development. When your heart is in acceptance, you don’t need to justify why you love; Just Love. When you allow for connection with others, whether they are flawless or not; Just Love. Whether they are in your life for a short or long time; Just Love. Stop questioning, as love makes you a better person. Generating unconditional love allows you to shine. Allow for the life you are searching for…

Summer Solstice

Summer Solstice, Midsummer, Litha

By Tara Sutphen

21st June

“In the world’s audience hall, the simple blade of grass sits on the same carpet with the sunbeams, and the stars of midnight” – Rabindranath Tagore (Indian Poet, Playwright and Essayist, Won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913, 1861-1941)

gSummer Solstice marks the end of the waxing year. And the rays of the sun directly strike one of the two tropical latitude lines. June 21 marks the beginning of summer in the northern hemisphere, as winter begins in the southern hemisphere. On this day, the earth’s “circle of luminescence” will be from the Arctic Circle to the Antarctic Circle. The equator receives twelve hours of daylight, as there will be 24 hours of daylight at the North Pole and 24 hours of darkness at the South Pole.

gAll over the world people honor this day as an important reminder of the apex of light and to cast away evil and their problems. Northern Hemisphere inhabitants use June 21 as the day of celebration, but the splendor of light lasts from new moon to full moon.

Worshipping the Sun’s great power, all cultures celebrate in some way. Celts and Slavs dance around bonfires while Chinese marked the day honoring Li, the Goddess of Light. The celebrants of modern and ancient ceremonies tune in that life comes from the sun. It is life giving and life supporting. We’ve recently had the good fortune to have electricity, greenhouses, and shipment suppliers. How will you celebrate? We all may not get a chance to dance around the bonfire but it’s a time to bask in the light, sit in the sun, cast our worries away and awaken to our lives.

Meditation By Tara Sutphen

Following Tara’s “under the stars” induction, you travel to a sacred stone circle in the middle of a meadow. Here, in the center of the circle, you meet a beautiful woman dressed in chiffon. As she chants, you experience an expanding vortex of power within: “Where light meets darkness … where the beginning encircles the end … where joy nullifies pain … we now choose to slip between the worlds beyond time, beyond space, and we invoke the positive powers of the Universe to assist us to manifest our desires.” Chakra balancing is followed with an inspiration ritual in which you open your heart and mind to the limitless positive potentials of life on earth. You withdraw an object from a box that relates to your purpose. Walking counter clockwise you recall a happy event from the past and transmit the vibrations into the present. A clock becomes a symbol placed in the circle to assist you make the most of your valuable time. Much more. 30 Minutes.

Great Friends: Tara Sutphen & Jess Stearn

tarasutphenandjessstearnmalibu

  1. Here is some fun writing from Jess: I write with him all the time, we were everyday communicators in life and in his death, we’re still really close…
Subject: 6.13.09 Jess Stearn Au. Wr.

    Dearest Tara,
Well I am happy to be writing with you. We have written all along but not for the public of course. The magic happened when Bob Friedman recognized that you have always been on our team. The communicators of the “New World” whether we are dead or alive. We set ourselves to be allies and to assure words of value get spread in the ears of the holy and thoughtful.

I wasn’t always mindful when I was on the earth, I could be a buffoon, especially with women. It kept me strong in the work arena. You, Tara gain so much and will continue in knowledge and fine harmony with others. I was always in admiration of you in this way, the stepchildren, the followers, the town’s people, the revellers always in gentle comradery with you, you didn’t step on toes. I tried not to, I got less inclined to be happy as I aged.

I’ve analyzed many times why I felt the need to create chaos in my last years. I did it to hang on to those I loved and adored. And I hung on to my earthly possessions, which gave me great pleasure. Especially the beach house, as I know you are fond.

The best things I can convey to others about my death, it’s not as painful as I’d imagined it would be. It was simple at the time, something my body instinctively knew. Pain is really drab on earth, to be in distress physically is the worst. And most of everyone puts themselves through emotional torment, they believe others cause this pain. They only have that belief. If they stepped away and erased that person or events from their mind, they are then free of emotional pandering and abuse of the self.

As for physical agony, we all know that is the worst of human suffering. I wish you the readers to never suffer in any way. You ask if there is a way around it, there is, ask your guides and protectors to grant you safety. It never hurts to ask them to chaperon you from turmoil and excruciation.

When I was a mere boy as Jess Stearn (I’m still Jess Stearn by the way) I didn’t realize I would be a journalist or writer. I was a kid who daydreamed. I had brothers relatively gentle toward me and the women of my life lived away. This may be why I lived away from my first wife, not too sure about the act of marriage and togetherness. My grandmother raised us boys and I was grateful. I don’t get to see her much on this side of the veil. She continues with gypsies and doesn’t want to reincarnate or work for “humans” right now.

They are a traveling band of gypsies, I was with them in a previous life. Grandmother was our mother that life in Eastern Europe and marauders took it upon themselves to wipe us out. It was prejudice, no injustice had taken place. I heard many story’s and fortune-tellers in the gypsy life. I have always been attracted to both of these subjects. The previous incarnation theme was I’d been in the court of Kings and I needed exposure, to be wiser to the world and it’s foibles and fallables.

I needed to become more broadminded and understanding, as wars of religion have been around me for centuries. I am not interested in wars, I am drawn to workable solutions of dogma, religion and spiritual value. Many teachings are words among scholarly thinking and arbitration. Today you are in an evermore state of heartfelt spirituality. Dogma sits at a wayside and is still practiced, although questioned much more. I am not to bring you dogmatic ideas but rather to principals of widespread sensible thought. Your mind clears for the tasks of your days, your personal day is different than anyone’s day on the planet. See through your own experience and harbor memory. What creates the divine renewel of your mind and body, being of sound mind can create a good life. There will still be problems, but not as many as you think once you truly become in tune with yourself.

They Still Live

They Still Live

By Tara Sutphen

They still live, just not in our world. The dead that is. So I have this little story to tell you. I’ve been in Anchorage, Alaska where I grew up, visiting my relatives, friends and working for non-profit “Awakening Spiritual Unity”, for which I’m President. Justin Haughn hasn’t been to Anchorage before and he’s come up to work at Elmendorf Air Force base for the Blue Angel Air show. He’s married to Christina Chandler-Haughn, one of my amazing psychic students who I call ‘baby mystic’. Justin and I meet in downtown Anchorage. I’ve been running errands and trying to catch up with some of my cousins. I’m at a market festival, and I show him my Christmas card photo! And we start taking photos posing by a catering place selling salmon quesadillas and petting a 140lb Malamute.

I ask Justin if we can stop to see a few of my dead relatives in the graveyard. I’ve been meaning to stop by. My mom has texted me where they are earlier in the week, but it’s all of 3 sentences of directions. The graveyard is massive, there is no one in the office. I locate a few who I’m looking for, as they are buried in the Masonic and Moose sections. Justin and I are reading each head stone. Time consuming and fascinating as some of the graves date back to 1923. I’m still driving around the cemetery, Justin is such a great sport as I keep stopping and running out into the middle of the stones, still looking for 2 relatives grave by grave. We’re now in the Catholic section, no real reason just feeling compelled. When all of a sudden I make a huge hyena wail, (poor Justin)…one of my best friend’s graves stares at me. She wasn’t even Catholic, she was Mormon. I assumed when she died she’d been cremated. I didn’t know. Linda Marie Heaton, a lovely headstone with her photo.

Justin and I thought it remarkable that she wanted me to stop by and see her out of probably 2,000+ graves. And he’s liking the fact he’s on the adventure when I’m having these bizarre psychic experiences. He can’t wait to tell his wife.

I take him to “Gwennie’s” in Spenard, an old Alaska cafe and we start sharing the photos we’ve taken. I mention how my reflection is in Linda’s headstone, we gasp at the second photo. I wanted Justin to capture the saying on Linda’s grave and unintentionally the reflection of my body is on her head. I haven’t downloaded the photos on to the computer yet. There could be other phenomena and surreal qualities.

After Gwennie’s, I bring Justin to the Lake house where Nadine gives him raspberry jam she’s made from our harvest. It’s 9:15pm but I ask Justin if he’s game to go to a glacier? So we decide to drive the few hours to Portage Glacier. Our together time has to be at hyper speed, I have to get him back on base sometime tonight! The outing will be fun as we’ve been invited to relatives houses and also to help Tanya sparkle bead bandanas for Sturgis. But I’m not thinking that’s what Justin would like and it’s still light out, men really like the magnificence of real Alaska, so we take off toward the wilderness. I have to show him some real Alaska, especially after subjecting him to the graveyard. We make it to Portage where the midnight sun is just beginning to go down.  Jumping out of the car, we take a bunch of photos of icebergs and we try to drive further but the road to Whittier is closed so we take it as a cue to race back to Anchorage and the Air Force Base.  We talk about goals and the future along the way. Justin thanks me for taking him to the graveyard. We’re still so amazed my friend called after me not to miss her grave. She was a gorgeous woman who would read “Jonathan Livingston Seagull” aloud to me while we cooked and sat around. She has a beautiful daughter Regina. Friends are forever… I send her waves of Great Love and thank her for gracing my life.
